Institute allocates R$ 17 million for 38 education projects in the country

The Itaú Social Institute will allocate over R$ 17 million to educational programs across Brazil, supporting 38 projects aimed at improving children's school access and retention.

The Itaú Social Institute has announced a significant financial commitment of over R$ 17 million to support educational initiatives submitted by Municipal Councils for the Rights of Children and Adolescents throughout Brazil. This funding will benefit 38 projects located in 15 different states, all designed to enhance both access to education and the retention of children and adolescents in schools. Each selected project is eligible for funding up to R$ 500,000 through the Edital Fundos da Infância e da Adolescência, which has been active since 2005 and aims to support programs that uphold the rights of this demographic.

Among the projects receiving support are various educational, cultural, and sports activities that occur during out-of-school hours, which are intended to increase learning time and prevent factors that may lead to educational disruption. Additionally, the funded projects will focus on training teachers, social educators, and technical staff to conduct local assessments regarding school dropout rates and student retention. Community campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the right to education are also a critical component of the initiatives supported by this funding.

This funding initiative reflects a strategic effort by the Itaú Social Institute to address educational inequalities and foster sustainable development within communities. By targeting key areas such as teacher training, student retention, and community engagement, the institute aims to improve educational outcomes for vulnerable populations in Brazil, ensuring that children and adolescents have better opportunities to succeed academically and socially.
