Education Minister announces R$ 120 million for Ufac and Ifac during agenda in Rio Branco

During his visit to Rio Branco, Brazil, Education Minister Camilo Santana declared significant investments in the educational sector of Acre, revealing over R$ 120 million allocated to the Federal University of Acre (Ufac) and the Federal Institute of Acre (Ifac). This funding is part of the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure and resources in the region.

The Ministry of Education detailed that a total of R$ 301.9 million would be invested in Acre, which includes R$ 170 million designated for basic education, R$ 33.6 million for technical and professional education, and R$ 90 million for higher education. Notably, funds for basic education will facilitate the purchase of 33 buses and the construction of seven daycare centers and ten full-time schools, showcasing a commitment to foundational education.

For technical and higher education, the funds are earmarked for developing the Ifac campus in FeijΓ³ and establishing a University Hospital for Ufac, alongside ten improvement projects at the institutions. This ambitious investment not only reflects the government's commitment to education but also aims to foster regional development and uplift educational standards in one of Brazil's less economically developed areas.
