The International Airport of Manaus, Eduardo Gomes, is set to introduce new direct flights to Boa Vista and Fortaleza within the coming months, as announced by the government of Amazonas. This initiative aims to expand the air network of Manaus, reduce travel time between the northern and northeastern capitals, enhance tourism opportunities, stimulate corporate travel, and facilitate connections to other regions of Brazil. The expansion of air routes comes in response to institutional dialogues held with the airline sector by Amazonastur, the state tourism agency.

Marcel Alexandre, the president of Amazonastur, highlighted that these new routes are a direct outcome of ongoing discussions with Gol Airlines, emphasizing the strategic importance of Amazonas for regional connectivity. The agency has been actively engaging in meetings with the airline to showcase the tourism potential of the state, the strength of its Industrial Pole, and Manaus's role as a vital entry point to the Amazon region.
