Piauí government makes first collective delivery of the Rural Environmental Registry of 2026
The Piauí government has delivered the first collective batch of the Rural Environmental Registry for 2026, benefiting traditional communities in the region.
The government of the state of Piauí, through the Secretariat of Environment and Water Resources (Semarh) and the Institute of Lands of Piauí (Interpi), has conducted the first collective delivery of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) for 2026 in the municipality of Paquetá do Piauí. This initiative specifically targets traditional communities, providing significant support to 410 families from local quilombola communities such as Custaneira Tronco, Mutamba, and Canabrava dos Amaros.
This initiative is part of the broader environmental and land regularization policy being implemented by the Piauí government. It aims to promote productive inclusion, guarantee rights, and strengthen environmental management efforts. The Rural Environmental Registry serves as a strategic tool for regularizing rural properties, ensuring that beneficiaries can access various public policies, support programs, rural credit, and technical assistance actions.
For the traditional communities involved, obtaining the CAR is considered a significant step forward. This document not only solidifies their land rights but also paves the way for their participation in economic programs that can lead to improved living conditions and opportunities for development. The government's focus on these communities highlights a commitment to social equity and environmental sustainability in the region.
