Piauí intensifies registration update for entities for OPA 2026-2027

The state of Piauí is updating the registration and documentation of entities participating in the OPA program ahead of its launch in March 2026.

Piauí's government is preparing for the launch of the Digital Participatory Budget (OPA) 2026-2027 in March by intensifying the registration and documentation process for participating entities. Beginning February 9, local authorities initiated an online update of registrations and the enrollment of new entities that wish to participate. This move aims to ensure that all entities have their data and documentation up-to-date and validated before the program cycle commences.

The registration process is being facilitated by the State Secretariat of Planning (Seplan) through an online portal designed specifically for entities in the municipalities of Teresina, Parnaíba, Picos, Piripiri, and Floriano. In addition to the online registration, the OPA program is providing in-person assistance through dedicated service rooms located in these municipalities, helping organizations navigate the registration process. This comprehensive approach is intended to streamline participation and enhance community engagement in the budgeting process.

To successfully register, entities are required to provide various documents, including a valid CNPJ number, a statute or founding document demonstrating its area of operation, and minutes from a recent meeting. This rigorous documentation ensures that all participating entities are legitimate and recognized, thus enriching the effectiveness and transparency of the OPA program, which invites civic involvement in budgetary decisions.
