City Hall releases updated IPTU and waste collection fees bills

The City Hall of Pindamonhangaba has made updated IPTU and waste collection fee bills available for consultation, printing, and payment after corrections to the tables were made earlier this month.

The City Hall of Pindamonhangaba has recently published the updated bills for the Urban Property Tax (IPTU) and the waste collection fee, which are now available for consultation, printing, and payment on their official website. This update follows a suspension meant to correct discrepancies in the earlier tables. In February, the city enacted Decree 7.006, which aimed to address the overly high assessments by lowering the square meter value of constructions and lots reflected in the Generic Price List. Consequently, this reduction is expected to lower the IPTU tax burden on residents.

In addition to the decree, the city government also introduced Legislative Bill 030/2026 to further reduce waste collection fees. This bill received approval from the city council, resulting in the establishment of Law 7.067/2026. The revised table delineates specific rates for the waste collection fee, with a cap set based on property type and size. For vacant lots, fees range from R$ 32.53 to R$ 113.87 per year. For residential properties, annual charges range from R$ 113.87 to R$ 292.81, while commercial, industrial, or mixed-use properties face distinct fee structures.

These changes are significant for residents of Pindamonhangaba as they reflect a responsive governance approach aimed at easing financial burdens through tax recalibrations. Such measures may not only enhance compliance but also improve the quality of life for residents by ensuring fair taxation aligned with property value assessments and waste management needs.
