Latvian Public Media's campaign has raised 523,981 euros to provide warmth to Ukraine
A charity campaign by Latvian Public Media has successfully raised over half a million euros to assist Ukrainian communities with heat and energy support amid ongoing conflict.
In a recent charitable initiative led by Latvian Public Media (LSM), a total of 523,981 euros has been raised to provide much-needed warmth and energy support to Ukraine. The campaign, which runs from February 9 to 24, is in partnership with the charity organization "Ziedot.lv" and aims to address the severe damage done to Ukraine's energy infrastructure as a result of the Russian invasion, which has left many communities struggling for basic heating and electricity. Contributions can be made through a designated phone line or online, making it accessible for the public to participate in this humanitarian effort.
This fundraising campaign coincides with the four-year anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, further highlighting the ongoing crisis and the urgent need for international support. The funds raised will specifically be allocated towards the purchase and provision of generators and heating equipment for Ukrainian communities that are in critical need. LSM's collaboration with "Ziedot.lv" emphasizes a united front from Latvia in support of Ukraine, reflecting a commitment to humanitarian values in the face of adversity.
Since the onset of the conflict, this marks the fifth fundraising effort organized by LSM and "Ziedot.lv" aimed at supporting Ukraineβs energy needs. The appeal not only raises funds but also serves to foster a sense of solidarity within the Latvian community towards those affected by the conflict in Ukraine, encouraging ongoing public involvement in humanitarian initiatives. As the situation remains dire, continued support is crucial to helping rebuild the affected areas and ensuring that essential services like heating and electricity are restored for the Ukrainian people.
