Latvian Public Media (LSM) in collaboration with the charity organization 'Ziedot.lv' has launched a support campaign from February 9 to 24, coinciding with the four-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The fundraiser aims to collect funds to help communities in Ukraine that are suffering from the destruction of their energy infrastructure due to the ongoing war. The total amount raised thus far reaches €407,411, demonstrating significant public support for the initiative.

The funds collected will be directed solely towards providing essential resources such as generators, electricity, and heating to the affected areas. As the conflict continues, many regions in Ukraine are facing dire energy shortages and the ongoing campaign is crucial in addressing the urgent needs of these communities. LSM emphasizes that contributions can be made through a dedicated phone line and online at 'ziedot.lv/Ukrainai', highlighting the importance of continued support for Ukraine during this critical time.

This initiative marks the fifth instance of LSM's efforts to assist Ukraine, showcasing the commitment of the Latvian community to stand in solidarity with those affected by the war. The collaboration with 'Ziedot.lv' ensures that the funds will be effectively utilized to aid Ukrainians in need, reinforcing the role of civil society in responding to humanitarian crises, particularly in light of the recent energy challenges faced by Ukraine due to Russian aggression.
