The leader of "Gora" describes the municipality's doubts as an absurd situation
The manager of the 'Gora' concert hall describes local government doubts about its profitability as absurd, emphasizing that profits will exceed 80,000 euros despite a slight decrease from earlier estimates.
Ilona Rupaine, board member of SIA 'Austrumlatvijas koncertzāle', responded to doubts voiced by the municipality regarding the concert hall 'Gora's' profitability, labeling the situation as absurd. She acknowledged that the profits for the previous year will be slightly lower than initially announced; nevertheless, they are projected to exceed 80,000 euros. Furthermore, Rupaine emphasized the intention behind disclosing information prior to the audited financial report to assure audiences and partners of the concert hall's successful operations.
Rupaine further clarified that the management of 'Gora' had warned the municipality's auditors that the anticipated financial figures would vary from the actual figures to be reported at the end of the fiscal year. This discrepancy arises because the audit was conducted in early autumn while the peak season for the concert hall occurs in the last months of the year. Consequently, the auditors' forecasts for the financial data were overly conservative compared to the outcomes.
Additionally, Rupaine contested the municipality's claim that the concert hall has not made any profit thus far, stressing that previous financial records reflect a different reality. According to data from 'Firmas.lv', the company has indeed achieved profitability in prior periods, contradicting the municipality's assertions and indicating a need for clearer communication between the management and local government regarding the concert hall's financial status.
