Rēzekne does not plan to accept the 'Gora' becoming state property; The Ministry of Culture calls for the concert hall to be taken over by law

Rēzekne city officials have rejected proposals from the Ministry of Culture regarding the future management of the concert hall 'Gora', insisting it should remain under local control.

In a recent meeting, the Rēzekne city council's Finance Committee deliberated on the future governance of the concert hall 'Gora'. The Ministry of Culture proposed a model where the state would completely take over the building and equipment of 'Gora' and hold a 75% stake in managing the concert hall's repertoire. However, on February 9, the Rēzekne City Council firmly rejected this proposal, citing significant local investments made in both the construction and ongoing maintenance of the venue.
