This comes after former Unification Church leader Yoon Young-ho testified last year that he had given money to Kim in connection with the 2020 general elections. The police, who took over the investigation from a special prosecutor's team, reported that Kim received an illegal political donation of 30 million won during the church event in Gapyeong.
