The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to swiftly announce the results from the Kuje Area Council chairmanship election, specifically highlighting delays in collating results from two wards. This call comes amidst growing concerns from the PDP regarding the potential for manipulation of results due to the narrow margin of their lead in those areas. The party's spokesperson, Ini Ememobong, noted that the situation has caused significant apprehension among party members and supporters alike.

Ememobong articulated that the ongoing delay in declaring the results is alarming and called for immediate action from the INEC Chairman. He emphasized the importance of transparency and the need to uphold electoral integrity, particularly given the historical context of electoral disputes in Nigeria. PDP's urgency stems from fears that external influences, potentially supported by security forces, could disrupt the election process in favor of opposing parties.

The party's statement on Sunday further insisted that the results from Kuje Central and Kabi Wards should be disclosed without further postponement, as most of the information had already been made available on the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IREV).
