Handler Shabbir Shah was in contact with Hafiz Saeed, major disclosure about Lashkar's Bangladeshi module
Delhi Special Cell has made a significant disclosure regarding a Bangladeshi module linked to Pakistan's terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, revealing contacts between the handler and top leadership.
The Delhi Special Cell has uncovered a significant connection involving a Bangladeshi module linked to the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, following the arrest of eight suspected terrorists. Investigations indicated that the module's handler, Shabbir Shah, was in direct contact with top leaders of Lashkar. The arrested suspects were found in possession of over a dozen mobile phones and 16 SIM cards, indicating a well-structured communication network. Six of the terrorists were apprehended in Tamil Nadu, and two others in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Shabbir Ahmed Loan, known as Shabbir Shah, has had direct links with Hafiz Saeed, the chief of Lashkar, and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, since 2007. His connections were unveiled during his arrest in 2007 when evidence showed that he was directly communicating with both Hafiz Saeed and Lakhvi. This long-standing relationship with top leadership of Lashkar emphasizes the threat posed by this module and highlights continuing concerns regarding terrorism in the region.
After being released from prison in 2017, Shah fled India, which raises questions about the potential for similar modules to operate undetected. The ongoing investigation into this network will likely reveal more about the extent of terrorist activities orchestrated from Bangladesh and their connections to operations within India, underscoring the need for enhanced vigilance against such threats in national security policy.
