Delhi Police's Special Cell has made significant strides in counter-terrorism efforts by dismantling a major terror module associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, arresting eight suspects from various locations, including Delhi, Kolkata, and Tamil Nadu. Investigators believe that this module was planning terrorist attacks in execution of directives from the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Bangladeshi terrorist organizations. During the operation, authorities seized more than twelve mobile phones and sixteen SIM cards from the arrested individuals, indicating organized communication and planning.

Additionally, the police investigation revealed that the suspects were actively promoting pro-terror content on social media, including materials glorifying operations of the Pakistani terrorist groups. Additional Commissioner of Police Pramod Kushwaha disclosed that posters extolling the actions of Burhan Wani and other Pakistani terrorist organizations were plastered at metro stations in Delhi and Kolkata on February 7 and 10. This information highlights not only the suspects' activities within these cities but also suggests a broader strategy aimed at inciting local support for terrorist operations.

The police apprehended two suspects from Kolkata and six from Tamil Nadu, demonstrating a geographical spread of the module's operations within India. The collaboration among the suspects, traversing multiple states for their activities, underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in countering domestic terrorism. This incident raises serious concerns regarding security and the potential for further extremist activities supported by international terror networks operating in the region.
