Bangladeshi Handler, Controlled from Pakistan, Targeting Temples... The Conspiracy Uncovered
The Delhi Police Special Cell has uncovered a major terrorist module of Lashkar-e-Taiba, arresting eight suspects, including seven Bangladeshis and one Indian, linked to an international plot targeting key temples and crowded places in India.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has successfully dismantled a significant terror module affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, which led to the arrest of eight suspects. Among those apprehended are seven citizens of Bangladesh and one Indian national from West Bengal. Investigations revealed that this module was being remotely controlled from Pakistan by handlers based in Bangladesh, with specific targets including prominent temples and busy public places across Delhi and other regions in India.
Police sources have disclosed that video evidence of surveillance conducted on various temples and important sites in Delhi was retrieved from the mobile phones of the arrested suspects. These videos were reportedly sent to a handler of Kashmiri origin, Shabbir Ahmad Lone, who is allegedly orchestrating the terrorist activities from Bangladesh. This emerging threat highlights a strategic attempt to divert blame for potential bombings in India towards Bangladesh instead of Pakistan, thereby complicating geopolitical tensions in the region.
In response to the identified threats, security has been notably intensified in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. Recent intelligence reports had already pointed to a potential terrorist attack plotted by the Lashkar-e-Taiba targeting this bustling locality. The increased security measures underscore the ongoing challenges that law enforcement agencies face in countering terrorism and ensuring the safety of religious sites amidst escalating threats.
