Praia Grande will build a new municipal transshipment station; see details
The city of Praia Grande, Brazil, is set to construct a new municipal transshipment station for solid waste management near the Padre Manoel da Nóbrega highway.
The municipal government of Praia Grande in São Paulo's coastal region has announced plans for a new municipal transshipment station dedicated to solid waste management. This facility will be strategically located away from residential areas near the Padre Manoel da Nóbrega highway. The aim of the initiative is to improve waste handling and ensure that municipal waste collected from households is appropriately processed and sent to sanitary landfills.
This new transshipment station will cover an area of 30,000 square meters and is designed to handle household waste efficiently. In addition, it will serve as a hub for recycling cooperatives, thereby encouraging the recycling of materials. Furthermore, the project includes the establishment of a Sorting and Transshipment Area (ATT) specifically for the construction and demolition waste, facilitating the regular disposal of construction materials.
The proposed project's sustainability features include rainwater harvesting and the use of solar energy, both of which aim to reduce the environmental impact by conserving natural resources and lowering operational costs. According to the city administration, the integration of various waste management facilities in a single complex will enhance operational efficiency and waste management practices in Praia Grande, contributing to environmental conservation and community health.
