Traffic on the roads and full KTEL buses for the Clean Monday three-day weekend - Poor weather conditions for holidaymakers' exit

Traffic congestion is evident as holidaymakers travel during the Clean Monday weekend, compounded by adverse weather conditions.

The movement of holidaymakers for the Clean Monday long weekend is in full swing, with increased traffic observed on both the national roads and the network in Attica, as thousands of citizens prefer to travel by car for their excursions. Significant traffic problems have been reported, particularly on the ascent of Kifisou from Moschato to Nea Philadelfeia, while delays are notable on the Attica Road, particularly at the exit towards Lamia, towards the airport. There is heightened congestion towards Elefsina from Kantza to Metamorfosi on the exit leading to Lamia, as well as from Agia Paraskevi to Metamorfosi along the Hymettus Ring Road.

Drivers are experiencing slow speeds at other key points, such as on the Athens-Corinth road/Leoforos Athinon (from the refineries to the Aspropyrgos bridge), Petrou Ralli, Vasilissis Sofias (downhill), Mesogeion (from Katechaki to central Athens), and Vasilissis Konstantinou. Furthermore, the notorious Poseidonos Avenue sees heavy traffic from Alimos to Karaiskaki, as travelers seek to escape the city's hustle for a holiday break. With poor weather expected, holidaymakers should be cautious as they undertake their journeys, adding an additional layer of challenge to travel plans for the weekend.
