FG resumes construction of Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road
The Nigerian Federal Government has resumed construction on the long-stalled Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road following a N19 billion approval to improve local infrastructure.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the resumption of construction on the Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road, a project that had been halted for over three years. This revival was facilitated by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, who revealed on his social media that the project had received a N19 billion funding approval. The resumption of construction aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to enhance quality infrastructure across the nation, benefiting local communities directly.
Barau Jibrin, representing the Kano North Senatorial District, discussed the project's reactivation after a successful meeting with officials from CGC Nigeria Limited, the contracted company responsible for the construction. The resolution of outstanding issues that had previously stalled progress has paved the way for contractors to return to the site, much to the delight of local residents who rely on this road for access and commerce.
Community members along the road have expressed their gratitude towards the Federal Government and Barau Jibrin for their efforts in revitalizing this key infrastructure project. Residents, such as Malam Lawan Bala from Rimin Gado town, have reported that the construction crews are back on the ground, hinting at a renewed optimism for improved connectivity and economic activity in the region as the project moves forward.
