FG slams contractor over poor Keffi-Nasarawa road

The Nigerian Federal Government has criticized Wizchino Engineering Limited for inadequate construction work on the Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji road.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has recently expressed serious dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work performed by Wizchino Engineering Limited on the crucial Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji road in Nasarawa State. This criticism comes in the wake of an inspection visit by the Federal Controller of Works in the state, Ishaku Mamri, who highlighted that despite the release of required funds to improve progress, the contractor's work remains unsatisfactory and slow.

During the inspection, Mamri pointed out that the construction's pace is disappointing, and the contractor has not fully adhered to the specifications laid out for the project. He emphasized that the Federal Ministry of Works aims to ensure the durability and usability of roads constructed across Nigeria, and the current situation reflects poorly on those goals. The FG's frustration is directed at the contractor's lack of cooperation despite repeated attempts to rectify the performance issues.

The significance of these remarks underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and accountability among contractors. With the Federal Government holding contractors responsible for timely and quality work, it highlights the challenges faced within public works projects and the broader implications for road infrastructure in Nigeria. The outcome of these issues could affect future contractors and the government's approach to enforcing project specifications and timelines.
