‘Gangbuk motel series deaths’ suspect sent to custody... charged with murder
A 20-something woman has been charged with murder after allegedly giving drug-laced drinks to men at a motel in Gangbuk, leading to two deaths and injuries to another.
A woman in her twenties has been sent to the prosecution under custody by the Gangbuk Police in Seoul, South Korea, facing serious charges including murder and special injury due to her alleged involvement in the deaths of two men at a motel. The suspect, identified only as 'A', provided drug-laced beverages to three young men from mid-December last year until September 9, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. The police have indicated that they initially hesitated to apply murder charges due to insufficient evidence regarding intent, but have since revised their assessment and transferred the case with murder allegations to prosecutors.
Despite the gravity of the charges, 'A' maintains her stance that her intention was merely to make the victims sleep and claims she didn't anticipate the fatal outcome. However, investigators have pointed out that her testimony, along with mobile phone forensics, suggests that she was aware of the potential risks involved, especially as it was noted that she increased the dosage of the drug after the initial incident. The police have engaged a profiler to conduct a psychological evaluation of the suspect, and results from this assessment will be forwarded to the prosecutors for further proceedings.
The Gangbuk Police have also stated that they intend to investigate the possibility of additional victims beyond the already identified three men. This case raises significant concerns regarding drug-related crimes and the safety of individuals in such accommodation settings, highlighting the need for vigilant monitoring and preventive measures to protect vulnerable individuals.
