"There was a conflict of opinion, so I tried to calm them down"... A suspect in the northern district of Seoul motel serial death case has been arrested

A woman in her twenties has been arrested for allegedly causing the deaths of two young men at a motel by giving them a drink laced with drugs.

In a tragic event in Seoul's northern district, a woman in her twenties, referred to as 'A', has been arrested for allegedly handing two young men drinks spiked with drugs, leading to their deaths. Authorities reported that 'A' claimed her intent was not to kill but to calm the men down after a disagreement. Despite her assertions, a district court granted her arrest due to concerns that she might flee the scene. This incident took place on January 28 and again on September 9, involving the same woman giving a psychoactive medication-laden drink to the men, resulting in fatalities.

Police investigations revealed that 'A' prepared the drinks ahead of time and administered them to the victims, indicating a level of premeditation in her actions. In the prior December, she had also given another man a similar drug that resulted in physical harm but stated she did not intend to cause significant damage. Meanwhile, authorities are focusing their investigations on establishing whether there was a prior intent to kill, as evidence currently points to a lack of premeditated murder charge against her. This ambiguity has led detectives to classify her actions under the lesser charge of causing death by bodily harm.

The case's serious nature has prompted police to assure thorough investigations and cautious responses to potential secondary harm to the victims' families. As the case continues to develop, law enforcement is paying close attention to ensuring justice and preventing any further repercussions from this disturbing sequence of events. The investigation aims to clarify the suspect's motivations and the extent of her premeditated actions in these unfortunate incidents.
