‘Gangbuk Motel Murder’ Kim So-young, Additional Three Victims Confirmed...Charged with Special Injury

Kim So-young, charged with the murder of two men in a Gangbuk motel case, has been further charged with special injury relating to three additional male victims identified by police.

Kim So-young, a 20-year-old female suspect, has been charged with murder and special injury for allegedly providing drug-laced drinks to men in a motel in Gangbuk, Seoul, leading to the death of two men and the incapacitation of another. Recently, the Seoul Gangbuk Police Department has stated that they identified three more male victims who are reportedly affected by her actions, confirming the existence of additional criminal charges against her.

Forensic analysis conducted on hair samples from these three men at the National Forensic Service found benzodiazepine, a type of psychoactive substance similar to drugs used in the initial cases. Although one man's sample did not show similar drug presence due to the time elapsed since the alleged incident, the police believe the evidence collected substantiates further charges against Kim, despite her denial of the allegations.

Kim was first incarcerated and charged on October 10 for two counts of murder and special injury, alongside violations of the Narcotics Control Act, following reports indicating her actions from mid-December last year until February this year. Her initial trial is set for next month at the Seoul Northern District Court, where proceedings will begin to address both the current and prior allegations.
