The block A Banda took to the streets of Macapá on Tuesday, March 17, marking its 61 years of tradition in a vibrant celebration. This year, the event featured the iconic giant puppets dressed in homage to the Brazilian National Football Team, showcasing costumes reminiscent of players, referees, and goalkeepers. The parade winded its way through several key streets, including Rua Cândido Mendes and Avenida Henrique Galúcio, before concluding on Avenida Ernestino Borges.
The festivities kicked off early at 9 AM with a breakfast hosted at A Banda's headquarters on Ernestino Borges. At noon, participants enjoyed a traditional stew, which signals the official start of the party atmosphere. The lively event attracted crowds from the local community and beyond, emphasizing the importance of cultural celebration in the region.
In terms of security, the organization was able to ensure public safety through collaboration with local authorities including the Military Police, the Civil Police, and the State Department of Transit of Amapá (Detran-AP). Additionally, there was aerial support from the Tactical Air Group and surveillance via drones throughout the parade route, reflecting the scale and organization of this beloved local event.
