Carnival 2026: A Banda bloc will have a special security scheme in Macapá

The traditional A Banda bloc's parade in Macapá will see enhanced security measures with over 500 public safety agents deployed.

During the traditional parade of the A Banda bloc in Macapá, held on Tuesday, more than 500 public safety agents will enhance the protection of the community. The operation is comprehensive, involving 379 military police distributed among 26 vehicles, 7 motorbikes, 60 patrols, and 9 policing sectors. In addition to police forces, 106 firefighters will be deployed, along with inspection teams and vehicles. The operation will also include contributions from the Penal Police and the Air Tactical Group (GTA), emphasizing a collaborative approach to safety during the event.

The Deputy Secretary of Justice and Public Safety, Felipe Vieira, expressed confidence in the security measures, stating that the integrated forces will ensure a safe environment for the festivities. This coordination includes foot patrols, vehicle presence, traffic management, and aerial monitoring to provide comprehensive coverage throughout the event. The efforts aim to maintain a joyful atmosphere while preventing serious incidents that could disrupt the celebrations.

The operation will be complemented by a Mobile Command and Control Center outfitted with advanced technological resources, including artificial intelligence, long-range cameras, and electronic ankle monitoring systems. These measures highlight the authorities' commitment to not only ensure the public's security but also integrate innovative technology to enhance the management of large public gatherings such as the Carnival in Macapá.
