Municipal Guard will take support actions for women and children during Carnival in São Vicente

The Municipal Guard in São Vicente is providing support for women and children during Carnival by setting up tents for assistance, including help for violence victims and lost children.

The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of São Vicente has established welcome tents to support women and children during the Carnival festival, which runs until Sunday, February 22. This initiative is led by the guard group 'Guardiã Maria da Penha', which focuses on assisting victims of violence, locating lost children, and providing reporting points in the busiest areas of the celebrations, according to the city hall. The tents will serve as places where teams can offer immediate assistance to victims of violence, help find lost children, and act as reporting and support centers in high-traffic locations. Additionally, identification bracelets for minors will be distributed free of charge to facilitate reunification in case of separation from guardians. The Guard 'Guardiã Maria da Penha', which specializes in protecting women victims of violence, also oversees the enforcement of protective measures in cases of neglect and provides emotional and legal support to those in need. This proactive measure aims to create a safer environment during the festive season, addressing issues of safety and welfare for vulnerable populations in the community.
