Seven people injured after bus leaves the track on BR-259
A bus accident on BR-259 in Brazil left seven individuals hospitalized with minor injuries after the driver lost control on gravel.
In the early hours of Monday, July 16, a bus accident on the BR-259 highway resulted in seven people being injured. The incident occurred between the towns of Divinolândia de Minas and Virginópolis, where the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating through gravel on the road. Following the loss of control, the bus veered off the highway and came to a stop at the roadside.
At the time of the accident, the bus carried 30 passengers who were traveling from Divinolândia de Minas to Belo Horizonte. Emergency services responded quickly to the incident, and the seven injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital in Virginópolis for treatment, all of whom sustained only minor injuries and were later released. The bus driver underwent a breathalyzer test, which showed no signs of alcohol consumption, ruling out intoxication as a factor in the crash.
A representative from the bus company arrived at the scene to ensure the safe transfer of the remaining passengers and their belongings. This incident highlights concerns regarding road safety in the region, particularly in areas where gravel or loose debris can contribute to accidents, prompting a review of safety measures and driver training protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
