A serious accident occurred on the BR-277 in São Miguel do Iguaçu, Brazil, when a bus carrying 24 passengers crashed into the rear of a truck on a Wednesday afternoon. The collision left five people injured, with the bus driver suffering from more significant injuries. Following the crash, the bus overturned, and the cargo of grains from the truck spilled onto the road, creating hazardous conditions.

The victims were promptly transported to hospitals in the region by ambulances from EPR Iguaçu, the concessionaire responsible for that stretch of the highway. Fortunately, the truck driver did not suffer any injuries. The accident caused the highway to be fully closed between Foz do Iguaçu and Cascavel for several hours, with a temporary blockage in the opposite direction as cleanup efforts and the recovery of the bus were undertaken.
