MMi finalist and Olympic sixth swimmer showed good results in Tartu

Estonian swimmers achieved impressive results at the Zirk Swim Cup in Tartu, where Jan Cejka and Neza Klancar showcased their talents.

The Zirk Swim Cup, a prestigious international swimming competition, concluded in Tartu at the Aura swimming pool, highlighting the exceptional performances of swimmer Jan Cejka from the Czech Republic and Slovenian Neza Klancar, who finished sixth at the Paris Olympics. Klancar, at 25 years old, dominated the sprint events and earned the title of best female swimmer of the competition, leaving her competitors behind in every event she participated in. In a remarkable display of prowess, she managed to secure significant victories over the course of the two-day event.

On the second day of competitions, Estonian swimmer Maari Randväli nearly broke the national record in the 100m backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:02.36, just 0.51 seconds shy of the record. Randväli expressed her satisfaction with her performance, despite not breaking the record, stating that her times are very fast for the beginning of the year. Her ongoing training at Mount Kelly College in England seems to be paying off, as she also won the 100m freestyle event, showcasing her versatility and talent.

Czech swimmer Jan Cejka, who finished sixth in last year's world championships, was awarded the title of best male swimmer at the event. He impressed with a strong performance in the 50m backstroke, clocking in at 25.84 seconds. Cejka's achievements in Tartu further illustrate the high level of competition at the Zirk Swim Cup, and both he and Klancar are poised to build on their success as they prepare for future international competitions, including the upcoming Olympics.
