The end of speculation regarding the concession for TV Republika. In the background, a quarrel and an important protocol
TV Republika is behind on its payment obligations for a broadcasting concession and has proposed a revised payment plan to settle debts.
TV Republika, a Polish television station, has been facing financial challenges regarding its broadcasting concession payments. The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) had previously noted that the station had failed to deposit approximately 2 million PLN, the amount required for its concession fee renewal. As of the end of 2025, KRRiT prompted TV Republika to remit the outstanding payment by January 15, 2026; however, the station was still nearly a million PLN short.Managing its financial obligations, TV Republika has requested an extension to June 2026 to clear its outstanding debt, hoping to settle the remaining balance of 900,000 PLN. The station has further suggested shifting from an annual payment model to monthly installments, assuring KRRiT that it would meet these obligations by March 2026. This move reflects the station's uncertain financial viability, which is a critical requirement for obtaining and maintaining the MUX-8 broadcasting concession in Poland.
