The President of TV Republika ends speculation regarding the concession. "We proposed a fair solution"
The President of TV Republika discussed the recent decision by the National Broadcasting Council regarding their request for a staggered concession fee payment.
During the recent meeting of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) held on February 18, the request from TV Republika to stagger their concession fee payment was once again a topic of discussion. The station's request received support from two members of the council while two others voted against it, resulting in a lack of approval. Tomasz Sakiewicz, the president of TV Republika, commented on the situation, highlighting the challenges posed by the council's earlier assurances regarding the legality of the concession.
In his remarks, Sakiewicz emphasized that the KRRiT was the one to initially propose the concession by organizing a competition, and they assured the station that the concession did not have legal flaws. He expressed concern that the KRRiT had become involved in a process whose consequences would eventually fall upon the broadcaster. A specific point raised by Sakiewicz was the absence of a procedure for refunding the concession fee, should the decision by the Supreme Administrative Court uphold the previous ruling by the Administrative Court.
Sakiewicz further stated that it would be preferable for their organization not to have to pay the fee upfront. His comments reflect a sense of frustration regarding the ongoing negotiation process and the implications of the council's decisions on TV Republika's operations and financial obligations.
