Gol to have the world's longest flight with a 737 Max, between Asunción and Miami

Gol has announced a new non-stop international route between Asunción, Paraguay, and Miami, USA, set to launch in June 2026, pending regulatory approval.

Gol Linhas Aéreas has unveiled plans to operate a new non-stop international route from Asunción, Paraguay, to Miami, USA, beginning in June 2026, with four weekly round-trip flights. This announcement was made by the Paraguayan Ambassador to the United States, Gustavo Leite, during a presidential meeting alongside Paraguay's President Santiago Peña and Gol's CEO Celso Ferrer. The route is currently under review by Paraguay's aviation authority, Dinac, for necessary approvals.

Previously, this route was serviced by American Airlines, which ceased operations in 2015, leaving Paraguay without direct flights to the USA. Gol’s new flight will reestablish this critical connection, making it the only direct service between the two countries. Currently, travelers can fly from Asunción to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where they can catch connecting flights to various destinations, including Miami.

This proposed route is anticipated to be the longest commercial flight in the world operated by a Boeing 737 Max, highlighting Gol's expansion efforts and commitment to enhancing international connectivity for Paraguay. It signifies a significant development not only for Gol Linhas Aéreas but also for Paraguayan tourism and businesses looking to access U.S. markets directly.
