Qi Li Xiang, the best Chinese restaurant in the Salamanca district costs 35 euros per person with wine
Qi Li Xiang is a highly praised Chinese restaurant in Madrid's Salamanca neighborhood, offering quality cuisine at a reasonable price.
Last week, I visited Qi Li Xiang (Ayala, 81) twice. Initially, I dined there with a friend who doesn't drink alcohol, and I was so impressed that I returned just four days later with another friend, enjoying a bottle of Finca Resalso. On my first visit, we spent 25 euros per person and on the second visit, it was 35 euros. The pricing is notably attractive given the restaurant's location, and especially considering the food was superb.
Qi Li Xiang promotes traditional Chinese cuisine but does so in a modern and clean dining environment that lacks typical delicacies like duck tongues or pangolins from Wuhan. Instead, it offers refined and exceptional dishes, accompanied by a concise wine list that aligns well with Spanish tastes, featuring all the classic selections.
One standout aspect of this Chinese restaurant is the artisanal preparation of the dumpling and noodle dough. It's a good idea to sample everything on the menu, as the delicacy of the ingredients and the careful cooking techniques set this restaurant apart from typical Chinese dining experiences.
