Court of Master Sommeliers: the first Argentine master sommelier returns to the country to teach classes

Pablo Braida, Argentina's first master sommelier, returns to offer an international sommelier course in Buenos Aires.

Pablo Braida, the only Argentine to hold the title of Master Sommelier, is returning to Argentina to lead an international sommelier course organized by the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS). The course, set to take place on June 2 and 3, 2026, will cover the foundational elements of wine expertise that mark the entry point into the CMS's certification ladder, which includes further distinctions such as Certified, Advanced, and Master Sommelier.

The initiative is being coordinated by the Escuela Argentina de Sommeliers (EAS) and highlights the commitment of the CMS Americas, spearheaded by Executive Director Julie Cohen Theobald and Master Sommelier Thomas Price, to enhance wine education in Argentina. The course aims not only to introduce more sommeliers to the field but also to establish ongoing educational opportunities, reflecting a growing interest in wine culture and professional training among Argentine wine enthusiasts.

Braidaโ€™s involvement as an instructor adds a significant local touch to the internationally acclaimed CMS curriculum. His expertise is expected to inspire aspiring sommeliers in Argentina, marking a pivotal moment for wine education in the country. This course represents a unique opportunity to elevate the standards of sommelier training locally while contributing to a broader understanding and appreciation of wine in an increasingly globalized industry.
