Pricer.lt announces which grocery store had the cheapest shopping basket
Pricer.lt reveals that the grocery shopping basket is now 23% more expensive compared to January 2022, with Maxima being the cheapest option this month.
In a recent analysis by Pricer.lt, it has been found that the overall cost of a grocery shopping basket is currently 23% higher than it was in January 2022, equating to an increase of €13.26. The report highlights Maxima as the store offering the cheapest basket, which saw a price drop of €2.15 in January. Meanwhile, other stores like Barbora and E-Rimi have experienced varied price changes, with Barbora reducing the basket price by €5.55, while E-Rimi and Rimi escalated their prices by €1.67 and €2.58 respectively.
The data showcases a significant price disparity across different grocery outlets; for instance, the difference between the cheapest supermarket Maxima and the most expensive, Norfa, stands at €12.24, translating to a 19.1% gap. Pricer.lt's analysis covers 52 items, revealing that 29 items saw a price increase while 22 items had lower prices, indicating a fluctuating market environment. Notably, 16 of the monitored items saw significant price hikes of 10% or more, which raises concerns about inflation and consumer spending in the region.
