“Together in thoughts and deeds with Ukraine!” – Latvian Public Media calls for support!
Latvian Public Media is encouraging citizens to support Ukraine through donations to a humanitarian campaign running from February 9 to February 25.
Latvian Public Media has launched a call to action for citizens to contribute to Ukraine, running a fundraising campaign in collaboration with the charity organization 'Ziedot.lv' and the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. Donations can be made by phone or online, with the funds directly benefiting those in need due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The support project will be active from February 9 to February 25, culminating in community events aimed at raising awareness and funds for Ukrainian families and soldiers affected by the cold winter.
On February 9, a special initiative will take place at the Congress House, where visitors can enjoy meals in exchange for donations. From 8:00 to 11:00 AM, a Ukrainian café will be serving breakfast and, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and later at 5:00 PM, borscht will be offered, all as a means to warm up and show solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The initiative aims to provide not only warmth through food but also a tangible means for individuals to express their support during the harsh winter conditions facing many Ukrainians.
The campaign emphasizes the urgency of the situation, highlighting that warmth is sought not just by soldiers in trenches but by families and children across Ukraine as well. The message to the Latvian people is clear: their contributions are vital for the safety and survival of Ukrainians in need. By participating in these activities and making donations, Latvians can demonstrate their solidarity and support for their neighbors suffering from the ongoing crisis.
