Ukrainian rehabilitation specialists received during an exchange visit at 'Vaivari'
The National Rehabilitation Center 'Vaivari' in Latvia hosted 24 Ukrainian health care and rehabilitation specialists to enhance their knowledge of modern rehabilitation methods.
The National Rehabilitation Center (NRC) 'Vaivari' has welcomed a delegation of 24 Ukrainian healthcare and rehabilitation specialists on an experience exchange visit aimed at enhancing their skills in contemporary rehabilitation approaches. During their stay in Latvia, these professionals are being exposed to the workings of NRC 'Vaivari', including the organization of the rehabilitation process and the multidisciplinary team approach used in patient rehabilitation. The program features both theoretical presentations and practical sessions in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and patient care, as well as meetings with other field experts.
The exchange program not only covers the theoretical aspects of rehabilitation but also allows the Ukrainian delegates to visit various key facilities within the Latvian rehabilitation and healthcare system. Specifically, they will tour the outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Vaivari, the Vaivari Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, the Technical Aids Center, the State Agency for Social Integration, and Vidzeme Hospital. These visits provide the Ukrainian specialists with a comprehensive insight into Latvia's healthcare infrastructure, which is crucial for developing effective rehabilitation practices back in Ukraine.
The initiative underscores the importance of international collaboration in the field of rehabilitation and healthcare, particularly in light of the ongoing challenges posed by the war in Ukraine. By learning from Latvia's rehabilitation strategies and methodologies, these Ukrainian specialists are expected to bring back valuable knowledge that will aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of individuals affected by the conflict. This exchange marks yet another step in strengthening ties between Latvia and Ukraine in the arena of health and rehabilitation services.
