Delta government honours autistic teen cyclist on awareness ride

The Delta State government recognized 16-year-old autistic cyclist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke during his endurance journey to raise awareness about autism.

On Sunday, the Delta State government welcomed Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, a 16-year-old autistic cyclist, at a brief stop in Asaba as he undertook a long-distance ride aimed at raising autism awareness. Kanyeyachukwu, hailing from Enugu State, was accompanied by his parents, members of the Kanyeyachukwu Autism Foundation, cycling officials, and a medical support team as he journeyed through different states towards Lagos.

During their visit to the Government House, Kanyeyachukwu and his entourage were received by Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of the Governor, along with other senior state officials, showcasing the support for their initiative. Mrs. Oborevwori commended Kanyeyachukwu's courage, determination, and the significance of his endurance ride titled 'Ride with Kanye', highlighting its purpose of increasing awareness about autism and encouraging inclusivity.
