The injuries included one pedestrian and one e-scooter rider.
Authorities issued two administrative offense protocols related to driving under the influence of alcohol, and in more severe cases, eight criminal proceedings were initiated. Furthermore, speeding violations led to the issuance of 188 administrative offense protocols nationwide, which accounted for a significant one-third of all traffic rule violations reported during the period.
This surge in accidents and the enforcement of traffic laws highlight ongoing safety concerns on Latvian roads, especially regarding the influence of alcohol and speeding, illustrating the need for continued public awareness and legal measures to enhance road safety in the country.
