TV Rio Sul hosted the 'Change the World' event in Barra Mansa, Brazil, distributing thousands of plants to promote sustainability and environmental education.
On Sunday, November 22, TV Rio Sul organized the 'Change the World' event in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, aimed at promoting sustainable practices and environmental education. Held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Avenida Roosevelt Brasil, the initiative saw the distribution of approximately 2,884 plant seedlings free of charge. This effort not only aimed to encourage community engagement but also to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among the local population.
The television network itself donated a significant portion of the seedlings, contributing 1,784 to the cause, while also distributing 100 fans made from seed paper that can be planted post-use. The event had additional support from the Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB), which provided around 400 seedlings. Local organizations such as the Rotary Club of Barra Mansa Alvorada also played a crucial role by donating roughly 400 seedlings, educating the community on environmental awareness through engaging activities like crossword puzzles and scavenger hunts while also collecting batteries and other recyclables.
This collective initiative not only benefited the environment by increasing local greenery but also fostered community spirit and highlighted the importance of sustainability. Events like 'Change the World' underscore the role of local media in environmental advocacy, encouraging citizens to take part in nurturing the planet and promoting a culture of sustainability throughout the region.
