More than 30,000 candidates are eligible to participate in the teacher qualification exam on Sunday, organized by the Piauí State Department of Education (Seduc). The examination aims to fill 4,000 teaching positions, with 2,000 available for immediate hiring and the remaining positions reserved for a waiting list. This influx of candidates reflects the significant demand for teaching jobs within the state, and the outcomes of this competitive process could influence the employment landscape for new educators in the region.
Candidates will take both objective and essay tests, starting at 1:30 p.m., after entering through gates that opened at noon. The exam duration extends for 4 hours and 30 minutes. The positions available cover a wide array of subjects including Art, Physical Education, Biology, Spanish, Philosophy, Physics, Geography, History, Computer Science, English, Mathematics, Portuguese Language, Sociology, and Chemistry, highlighting the state's commitment to a comprehensive educational infrastructure.
Preliminary results on the exam will be posted on March 27, with the final outcomes for objective tests and provisional results for the essay section expected by April 24. The examination is being held across various municipalities in Piauí, emphasizing the state's effort to decentralize educational opportunities and make teacher recruitment more accessible to a wider population.
