Piauí calls up more than 1,200 professionals for full-time schools

The State Education Secretariat of Piauí has called 1,220 new education professionals to work in full-time schools across over 130 municipalities.

The State Education Secretariat (Seduc) in Piauí, Brazil, has announced the recruitment of 1,220 education professionals to enhance the full-time school system integrated with professional education in the state’s public network. This recruitment spans across more than 130 municipalities, specifically targeting positions such as teachers, support staff, and technicians at both medium and higher levels. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the education infrastructure in line with the state's educational reforms.

In the latest recruitment drive, 975 professionals have been called from the fourth round of a public notice (SEDUC/GSE nº 40/2025), while the fifteenth recruitment round (SEDUC/GSE n° 08/2024) has resulted in an additional 275 substitutes being hired. It is important to note that these positions are temporary and do not replace permanent staff, underscoring the state’s approach to enhancing educational quality without disrupting existing employment structures.

The Secretary of State for Education, Rodrigo Torres, has emphasized that this call for new professionals aims to bolster the state's educational network, particularly the full-time school model, which integrates comprehensive educational approaches.
