DMI issues warning about dense fog on Sunday morning
The Danish Meteorological Institute has issued a warning about dense fog affecting parts of Denmark until Sunday morning.
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has announced a warning for dense fog that is expected to affect East Jutland, Funen, and parts of South Jutland until Sunday morning. The warning was communicated by duty meteorologist Henning Gisselø on the DMI's website and indicates that the fog may result in visibility dropping below 100 meters. Additionally, there are risks of fog or rime fog in parts of West Jutland and the southeastern region of North Jutland.
Gisselø explained that the fog is due to humid air covering the country, leading to localized areas of dense fog. While extending caution is advised for drivers, especially in areas where temperatures are below freezing, which could lead to slippery roads. The recommendation is to drive carefully during the morning hours as the visibility may be significantly reduced, posing a challenge for motorists heading out early.
The weather is expected to improve as the morning progresses, particularly in the eastern regions where fewer clouds may lead to a sunny day ahead. Gradually, as the fog clears, the rest of Denmark is also expected to experience brighter conditions, making for a pleasant day after the fog dissipates, according to Gisselø's forecast.
