The article highlights the success of this year's Reading Promotion Program organized by the National Library of Latvia (LNB), which saw participation from 912 libraries. More than 23,000 readers, including students and community members from 91 Latvian diaspora centers across 35 countries, took part in voting for their favorite books. Within the collections for the 'Children, Youth, and Parents Jury', 29 books across six age categories were evaluated, with 16 of these authored by Latvians.

Among the standout titles, Inese Zandere and Anete Melece's book 'The Traveler's Suitcase' was selected as the top book for young readers aged 5 and older. The book's popularity reflects the readers' connection with its themes, as Zandere mentioned how children's thoughts may align with the deeper meanings embedded in the narrative. The evaluation process included readers providing comments on their choices, fostering a greater engagement and understanding of literature among young participants.

The vibrant participation not only signifies a growing enthusiasm for reading among the younger generation in Latvia but also emphasizes the importance of community involvement in literary activities. The initiative bridges the gap between authors and readers, highlighting the impact of literature on cultural identity, especially within the Latvian diaspora, encouraging a sense of belonging and representation through their literary contributions.
