A chilly Sunday morning is forecasted across South Korea, with some areas expected to see rain later in the day.
On Sunday, the 22nd, South Korea will experience mostly cloudy conditions, with rain anticipated in various areas of Jeju starting in the afternoon. The Korea Meteorological Administration has indicated that light rain will fall in the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam regions, as well as Jeju, but overall, the weather is expected to be relatively mild for much of the day. Temperatures are projected to be similar to or slightly higher than the average for this time of year, which ranges from -2 to 6 degrees Celsius for lows and 11 to 15 degrees Celsius for highs.
In the central inland regions and parts of North and South Jeolla, morning temperatures are expected to hover around freezing, with differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures potentially reaching 15 to 20 degrees. The following morning's temperatures are predicted to fluctuate between -2 to 8 degrees Celsius for lows and 14 to 19 degrees Celsius for highs. Major city forecasts include morning lows of 4 degrees in Seoul and Incheon, 2 degrees in Suwon, 7 degrees in Gangneung, and 8 degrees in Busan, with maximum daytime temperatures expected to reach 17 degrees in Seoul and 19 degrees in Gwangju.
Additionally, dry weather warnings are in effect for the eastern coast of Gangwon and parts of North and South Chungcheong, indicating a very dry atmosphere. The Meteorological Administration has urged caution, noting that strong winds could exacerbate fire risks, including wildfires. Meanwhile, air quality in Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province is expected to be rated as 'poor,' while other regions will likely experience 'good' to 'moderate' air quality, although areas like Incheon and northern Gyeonggi may see 'poor' conditions in the morning hours.
