Snow and rain expected nationwide starting tomorrow, with a temperature difference of over 15 degrees Celsius

South Korea is forecasted to experience significant temperature fluctuations and precipitation from snow and rain across the country starting tomorrow.

On Wednesday, the Korea Meteorological Administration announced that there will be substantial temperature differences exceeding 15 degrees Celsius between day and night, particularly in the central and southeastern inland areas. Starting tomorrow night and continuing into Friday, most parts of the country are expected to receive rain or snow. Additionally, it is noted that strong winds and high waves will affect the southern coast and Jeju Island today. These conditions pose health risks due to the extreme temperature variations, necessitating caution in clothing choices.

The predicted daytime high temperatures will range from 8 to 15 degrees Celsius, which is slightly above or similar to the seasonal average. However, areas such as eastern Gyeonggi Province, inland Gangwon, and southeastern inland regions will experience notable day-night temperature fluctuations exceeding 15 degrees. Precautions are advised for agriculture since there may also be frost in inland areas during the early morning hours today and tomorrow. The expected maximum temperatures for major regions include Seoul at 11 degrees, Incheon at 9 degrees, and Busan at 13 degrees, among others.

The sky is generally expected to be clear nationwide, except for cloudy conditions anticipated in the eastern Gangwon and southeastern regions. Rain is expected to begin Thursday evening in the metropolitan area, inland Gangwon, and parts of Chungcheong and Honam, transitioning to widespread precipitation affecting most of the country from Friday. As heavy snowfall is already present in the mountainous areas of Gangwon, caution is urged to avoid accidents during this time. Given these forecasts, residents should stay vigilant regarding weather changes and prepare accordingly for potential adverse effects on daily activities.
