Latvian biathlete Andrejs Lozbers achieved a career-best performance, finishing close to the top 20 in a recent Biathlon World Cup event.

In a recent Biathlon World Cup sprint event, Norwegian athlete Sturla Holm Lægreid claimed victory, finishing 3.9 seconds ahead of French competitor Emilien Jaquelin, with Italian athlete Dominik Windisch taking third place just 0.7 seconds slower. All three athletes incurred one shooting penalty and completed an additional penalty lap during the race. This event highlighted the intense competition among the top biathletes in the world, as they vie for points in the overall season standings.

Latvian biathlete Andrejs Lozbers made a significant impact by starting in the final group, demonstrating remarkable skill and determination despite competing on a challenging track. Just one day before his 17th birthday, Lozbers managed to surpass several strong competitors who had raced earlier in the event. His performance secured him a place in the pursuit race, demonstrating his potential for future competitions. Meanwhile, fellow Latvians Andrejs Rastorgujevs and Renārs Birkentāls finished in 37th and 50th positions, respectively, also qualifying for the pursuit.
