During training in Ropaži Municipality, the National Guard will use ammunition
The Latvian National Guard will conduct training exercises in Ropaži Municipality, utilizing non-lethal training ammunition to enhance skills and readiness.
In Ropaži Municipality, exercise activities will be held by the National Guard's 1st Riga Brigade, specifically the 19th Combat Support Battalion in the Makstenieki area and the Student Infantry Battalion in Ropaži parish. These training sessions aim to improve individual combat skills among the participants and strengthen the units' preparedness for effective action in various scenarios. During these exercises, the National Guardsmen will practice tactical tasks in a wooded environment day and night.
The training program incorporates the use of training ammunition that produces sound but poses no threat to life or health, allowing for a realistic training environment without endangering the local residents. There may also be temporary military vehicle movement on the roads of the Ropaži parish and Makstenieki area to facilitate the exercises, which are part of the ongoing military training process that takes place throughout the year.
The National Guard operates without discrimination based on nationality, education, specialty, or experience. Candidates must be Latvian citizens and the training includes various tactical tasks during both summer and winter periods, ensuring that guardsmen continuously enhance their skills and maintain readiness for the defense of the areas under their responsibility.
