Collision between truck and trailer blocks BR-267 and leaves driver injured
A collision between a truck and trailer on BR-267 in Guarará resulted in the injury of one driver and the blockage of traffic.
On Friday morning, a serious accident occurred on BR-267 near Guarará, about 45 km from Juiz de Fora, involving a truck and a trailer. The collision took place due to one of the drivers losing control on a curve, resulting in the trailer tipping over and the truck blocking the roadway. Local authorities reported the incident led to a complete blockage of the road as both vehicles were left obstructing traffic.
Emergency services, specifically the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), responded to the scene and transported the truck driver to the Hospital de Pronto Socorro in Juiz de Fora with suspected fractures and abrasions. Fortunately, the trailer's driver was unharmed and opted not to receive medical assistance. The local police established traffic diversions within the city to ensure the safety of other motorists while the scene was cleared.
This incident highlights the dangers of road traffic in the region, particularly on curves where loss of control can lead to serious accidents. It underscores the importance of following traffic regulations and maintaining control of vehicles, especially for heavy transport vehicles that can cause extensive damage and pose risks to others involved in road use.
