SIA 'Latvijas aptieka' has finalized an agreement to sell 19 pharmacies and one branch to 'Mēness Aptieka' network managed by AS 'Sentor Farm Aptiekas', having received the necessary approval from the Competition Council of Latvia. This move is part of the restructuring process as the company aims to enhance its operational efficiency by divesting pharmacies that do not align with its optimal network structure model.
Additionally, 'Latvijas aptieka' previously secured consent from the Competition Council to engage in a transaction with SIA 'Farma Balt aptieka' to acquire 18 pharmacies. This ongoing restructuring reflects the company's strategic efforts to solidify a financially stable, robust, and sustainable pharmacy network. Following the current sale, further discussions with other potential buyers regarding additional pharmacy sales are anticipated, highlighting 'Latvijas aptieka's' commitment to adapting its business model for greater efficiency.
Chairman and owner Alvis Ērglis explained that their goal is to create a financially sound and effective pharmacy network. The strategic divestiture not only supports the financial health of 'Latvijas aptieka' but also positions it for future growth in a competitive market, as it continues to evaluate its operational strategies amidst changing industry dynamics.
