TODAY LIVE & BLOG | Roosleht starts at the Indoor Athletics World Championships
Estonian athlete Rasmus Roosleht competes in the men's heptathlon at the Indoor Athletics World Championships in Torun, Poland this weekend.
This weekend, the Indoor Athletics World Championships are being held in Torun, Poland, featuring Estonian athlete Rasmus Roosleht in the men's heptathlon. The event's opening day will showcase Roosleht alongside fellow Estonian runner Uku Renek Kronbergs. Coverage of the first day's events will be broadcast live on ETV, with commentary provided by sports analysts Helar Osila and Juhan Kilumets. Additionally, ERR's sports portal will run a live blog to keep viewers updated.
In the men's heptathlon, 16 athletes are competing, including Roosleht. Estonia secured two spots for the heptathlon in Torun; however, athlete Johannes Erm opted to skip the indoor season, which allowed Risto Lillemets a chance to compete in his place. Unfortunately, Lillemets sustained an injury at the beginning of February during an international multi-event competition in Tallinn and has not fully recovered in time for the championships.
Last year, Roosleht earned a personal best of 6062 points at the Indoor European Championships in the Netherlands, finishing in seventh place. His improvement and experience can be significant as he competes at the world level in Torun, aiming to exceed his previous results and showcase Estoniaβs athletic talent on a global platform.
